Dumb stuff

I got a job!

Or well, I got an internship! Which is almost the same thing? It’s technically unpaid but they provide housing and I get a $75/week stipend and some loan reimbursement and I’m 99% sure they’ll pay for my gas during work hours, so I’m ok with that.

Anyway, starting August 26th ish I’ll be working at the Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve in Jacksonville, FL doing a combination of grounds-keeping, historical building maintenance, artifact cataloging, and public education. Should be fun!

They had to move the Carol Corps panel TWICE last minute because of the insane turn-out.

And dudebros said a comic about a lady superhero wouldn’t sell.

In the last-minute and unlikely event that any of my followers are going to Heroes Con and would like to meet up/hang out, I’ll be wearing a Cap shirt and a red jacket and carrying a red bag.

Got another interview request, this one for an archaeology position in Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest in Wyoming.

Pros: INTERNSHIP, I’d literally just be hiking around the Rockies for 15 week surveying for sites, they’ll pay back like half of my student loans, I only work 3 10-hour days/week and I get all government holidays off, all that hiking will do really wonderful things for my health/in-shapeness (sic??).

Cons: It starts in like a week (though the exact date is 1-2 weeks flexible), there’s no reliable internet (OR PHONE SERVICE) for 40 miles around the park, Wyoming.

I suppose I could just rent a cheap place in Laramie or Cheyenne (the nearest cities) and go there each 3-day weekend for internet/human interaction, but that seems like a lot of effort.

I think I’m gonna go to Heroes Con :|a

So because I have more than one real-life friend following me, I figured it would be a good idea for me to make a separate blog for the sorts of things I don’t need my real-life friends seeing ahahaha.

Therefore: my new NSFW/fandom blog is here. I’ll still obviously be posting fandom and other stuff here, but new blog will be for less family-friendly stuff :V

I just felt a chill go down my spine and I’m not sure why.

My initial thoughts are sort of a muddled mass of anguished wailing and a deep desire to just lay down on the carpet and expire.

so long as it’s fun and you like writing trashy romance novels, it sounds like a reasonable way to get the monies. If you don’t, it’s probably a lot easier to hate a wageslave job and do it than write successful novels and hate them.

So I guess the only real question is if I can actually manage to write a 150-200k+ manuscript.
