so long as it’s fun and you like writing trashy romance novels, it sounds like a reasonable way to get the monies. If you don’t, it’s probably a lot easier to hate a wageslave job and do it than write successful novels and hate them.

Honestly I’d probably have a ridiculously fun time writing trashy trope-filled romance novels, and I’m enough of a perfectionist that I wouldn’t let anything through I was ashamed of (though for future career reasons I would almost certainly use a pseudonym).

So I guess the only real question is if I can actually manage to write a 150-200k+ manuscript.

Went to a new comic shop today! Reasonably satisfied with it.

Pros: Welcoming, feels like a safe environment, the dude working the counter was friendly and helpful and geeked out with me about what a hot mess Civil War was, overall was not as gross and dudebro-filled as the other comic place near my house (which I will never go to again; dude at today’s shop agreed that other place is not very friendly and I should totally stick around his shop).

Cons: 45 minutes away, did not have Avengers #12 (sold out) or JiM #652 (never got it in!) today :c (however! they put in a special order for me so I’ll have them both next week).

CONCLUSION: A++, will shop again
